REGIONAL/NATIONAL GROUPS:

Beyond the Sid Valley, there are several organisations which have taken an active interest in the River Sid.

The Devon Local Nature Partnership works with local groups – and has just set up its Wild About Devon initiative:

Welcome to Wild About Devon! – Devon Local Nature Partnership

The initiative is part of the wider Nature Recovery programme from central government:

Nature Recovery – Devon Local Nature Partnership

They are looking to local groups to input into this, including the SVBG, with a new toolkit launched as part of its Wild About Devon initiative:

Community Toolkit – Devon Local Nature Partnership

The Devon Wildlife Trust has been involved with projects on the Sid.

This includes the report carried out with the SVA and Devon county council in 2013:

The Environment Agency is a key player in any river system, as it is the government body responsible for all officially classified rivers. As such, it provides a lot of guidance:

The Westcountry Rivers Trust is interested in the Sid:

The Wild Trout Trust has also worked closely with the SVBG, having just completed a report commissioned by the School Weir Fish Ladder project group: this will be published shortly:
