Salmon in the Sid. Is there hope? @ Café Scientifique: 15th July

The River Sid Catchment Group is making real progress, doing some great work since its founding some eighteen months ago.

One of its main projects is working to bring salmon back to the Sid – and the group’s efforts and plans will be showcased at this month’s Café Scientifique: Salmon in the Sid. Is there hope:

Café Scientifique: Salmon in the Sid. Is there hope?

Tuesday 15th July 2025 3:00PM – 4:30PM

Location/Venue: Cellar Bar, Kennaway House, Sidmouth EX10 8NG

Charles Sinclair with the River Sid Catchment Group, Jan Metcalf, Stella Huyshe-Shires and Lyndsay Hooper will give a talk entitled Salmon in the Sid: Is there hope?

The River Sid Catchment Group has been active since 2023 with the aim of improving the health of the river system within the catchment. This includes enabling full fish migration within the river, ensuring clean and healthy water, and mitigating the impact of heavy rainfall in the valley.

The talk will outline the main characteristics of our catchment and the projects underway to make improvements.

Everyone welcome. £2.50 to include a hot drink.
