Walking and wheeling along the River Sid

There is a lot to see and explore along the River Sid – with some stretches more accessible than others.

There is of course the mouth of the Sid as a starting point – and it acts as the obvious start for the SVA’s ambitious Sid Valley Ring Walk with an excellent guide taking us up the Valley.

The Sidmouth Town Website provides The Byes Riverside Walk – starting a little further up at the Toll House. And indeed, the Byes Park is not only full of fascinating features, but is ideal for all ages and all abilities.

An excellent place to go for information on the Byes is the very special Sidmouth Nature website, put together by local resident and nature enthusiast Peter Orchard of Sidmouth – taking us through sites including the Riverside Wood, the SVA’s meadows and up to Sidford.

And finally, the county councils provides a detailed Walk along the Sid Valley whilst the Outdoor Guide gives a wheel-friendly walk along the River Sid.

So, lots to enjoy and lots to be made aware of!
