Talk and walk along the Sid – 6th June

The SVBG Biodiversity Festival is full to the brim with all sorts of events:

And on Tuesday 6th June, there will be two events, led by Ed Eley of the Wild Trout Trust.

At 10am at Kennaway House:

Exploring the main drivers needed to sustain a healthy population of wild brown trout and discussing some of the options available to deliver river restoration and positive change.

Understanding your river – Tuesday 6 June – Sid Valley Biodiversity Group

At 1pm along the River Sid, starting at the School Weir near the Toll House entrance to the Byes.

We will walk from School Weir to Fortescue Weir focusing on the impacts of weirs in regard to their effect on habitat and fish passage. A general habitat assessment of the Sid will be conducted, pointing out the good and the bad bits, with discussions about appropriate recommendations.

The Wild Trout Trust have produced two reports on the River:
